El Paso Chihuahuas catcher/first baseman Luis Campusano was named Minor League Baseball’s Player of the Month for the Pacifici Coast League.
Campusano led the league in average (.418) and OPS (1.526) and was second in hits (38), RBI (26), total bases (68), on-base percentage (.509) and slugging percentage (.747).

The award was announced on Thursday, Aug. 4.
Campusano hit eight home runs, recorded 13 multi-hit games and ended August on a 17-game hitting streak as he hit safely in 22 of 24 games. Campusano, 26, was selected by San Diego in the second round of the 2017 MLB Draft out of Cross Creek High School in Augusta, Georgia.
For the season, Campusano has 24 homers and 84 RBI with a .330 batting average. The Chihuahuas end the regular season on Sept. 21.
