City of Abilene welcomes new city manager

A new leader was seen walking the halls of Abilene City Hall Thursday.

Emily Crawford was sworn in as the new city manager during Abilene City Council’s regular Thursday meeting.

City Secretary Shawna Atkinson swore in Crawford before a packed council chambers.

Crawford was appointed as city manager May 8 and had her first day at City Hall Wednesday.

She previously served as the city manager for the city of Brownwood before her appointment.
