A popular Tex-Mex restaurant is expanding in Central Texas.
Chuy’s, the Austin-based restaurant, has announced plans to open a new $1.75 million restaurant in Bastrop, as noted in a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The upcoming location will be situated along State Highway 21, just a few miles from downtown Bastrop.

Where is the new Chuy’s location in Bastrop?
The Chuy’s being built in Bastrop will be located at NEC SH 21 and FM 969, near a shopping center filled with other businesses like a Chick-fil-A, Chili’s, Home Depot, and more.
Construction on the new Chuy’s is slated to begin at the end of September and is expected to be completed by June 1, 2026.
How many Chuy’s restaurants are in Austin?
The Tex-Mex chain was bought last year by Florida-based Darden Restaurants, the parent company of Olive Garden and Red Lobster. They acquired the company for $605 million.
In April, Chuy’s debuted its 10th Austin location at 126 E. Ralph Ablanedo Drive, situated within the Oaks at Slaughter shopping center.
