The 2027 recruiting cycle features several elite-level offensive line prospects, including the No. 1-ranked recruit in the class out of Humble, Texas. Five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown is entering his junior season at Kingwood High, but already looks like a collegiate starter.
Every blue-blood program in the country is after the star pass protector, while Texas A&M OL coach Adam Cushing is right in the thick of his recruitment. On Monday, Rivals recruiting insider Sam Spiegelman released his recent interview with Brown, who discussed his relationship with coaching staffs from seven programs that are trending in his eyes, including Oregon, Texas, Clemson, SMU, Georgia, Penn State, and Texas A&M.
While all seven schools possess their own strengths, ranging from impressive facilities to close relationships with their staff, Brown has already made five visits to College Station and reportedly plans to make a sixth trip to Texas A&M this fall, likely during one of the 2025 season’s home games.
Brown’s relationship with Adam Cushing will continue to strengthen over time, while he also references his bond with offensive analyst Wisly Desire, another big part of Texas A&M’s recruiting efforts.
“My relationship with Coach (Adam) Cushing and Coach (Wisly) Desire is very genuine. They give me tips here and there, drills they’re doing … I’m here for that. I love that,” Brown stated.
Focused on Cushing’s history of developing NFL-caliber offensive linemen, Brown also noted the “power” he’s witnessed during his appearances at Kyle Field on game days, especially during night games. Kennedy also noted the healthy and appealing foundation Mike Elko has built over the last two years, which has resulted in more than half of Texas A&M’s 2027 commits shutting down their recruitments.
“I’ve been there five times and it shows you how much I love A&M,” Brown stated. “Every college has a brotherhood; A&M is a great team and they’re consistent. The power there gets me hyped. A&M is insane, the atmosphere is insane for game day, and at night, that’s crazy … Coach Cushing produces one of the top OL in all of college football and it shows in the development of their players.”
This is a great start for the Aggies, who will likely contend with Texas, Oregon, and possibly Clemson and Georgia during the final stretch of his recruitment this time next year.
