Toot’n Totum will celebrate the grand opening of its newest location, Store No. 27 at 734 N. Taylor St. in Amarillo, on Thursday, Aug. 28 with an on-site promotion, giveaways and more.
The celebration begins with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:15 a.m., hosted by both the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce and the Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, with community leaders, partners, and guests.

The opening marks a special milestone as the company continues to celebrate its 75th anniversary. Guests will have the chance to win 75 cents off per gallon fuel (up to 25 gallons) and free food items through a digital scratch-off game on the Toot’n Totum app, available only to guests onsite beginning at 11:30 a.m. In addition to the scratch-off promotion, the event will have barbecue served by Mitch’s Texas Style BBQ, as well as vendor prize giveaways, merchandise, and other surprise items from Toot’n Totum’s valued partners.
“For 75 years, Toot’n Totum has been proud to serve the Texas Panhandle with convenience, value, and hospitality,” said Andrew Mitchell, CEO of Toot’n Totum. “This new store not only represents our continued growth, but also our gratitude to the Amarillo community that has supported us since 1950. We’re excited to celebrate with our guests, our partners, and the generations who have made Toot’n Totum part of their lives.”
Founded in 1950 in Amarillo, Toot’n Totum has grown to around 65 locations in the city, as well as stores in Lubbock and throughout the Texas Panhandle, including Borger, Canyon, Dalhart, Dumas, Pampa, Perryton, Plainview, Stratford and Sunray, according to its website. Beginning in 2015, its expansion grew to include other states including Kansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The company’s flagship travel center opened at I-40 and Lakeside in Amarillo in 2021.
According to an article earlier in the year featuring Toot’n Totum, which ran in January’s edition of CStore Decisions, a convenience store industry news resource, the company’s 100th store was under construction near its main headquarters in Amarillo with a scheduled opening in August.
