The highly-anticipated Top 50 Best BBQ Joints in Texas, and an additional 50, have officially been announced by Texas Monthly. This year included Lubbock, Olton, Slaton and Wolfforth restaurants, with one making the Top 10.
Here is a look at the winners and why they were chosen, according to Texas Monthly.
Wolfforth’s Evie Mae’s BBQ takes #10 spot in Best BBQ Joints in Texas list
This contender’s rank won’t surprise most of its fans. Evie Mae’s BBQ, 217 US-62, has been an area mainstay since it opened in 2015. Texas Monthly noted its brisket, St. Louis-cut pork ribs, sausage, gluten-free baked goods, and desserts.
“We’ve been honored to be on that list for 8 of our 10 years in business,” Evie Mae’s stated on social media. “We have a passion for the product and service that drives us to continue through the hot, smelly, smoky, windy, cold, dirty, heavy, hard, and wonderfully fulfilling daily grind that is barbecue. This job is hard, the economics of this industry are hard. But it’s what we love and it’s worth it.”
The beloved Wolfforth restaurant also expanded out-of-state, opening a location in Miramar Beach, Florida on June 15, 2024.

We are honored to be listed on this prestigious list along with so many peers that we look up to.”
Rejino also operates as the community’s grocery store, and still makes its area rounds as a food truck.
