Columbus police have released new footage of a “person of interest” seen walking in the alley near a home where a Weinland Park couple was found shot to death in late December.
Spencer Tepe, 37, and his wife, Monique Tepe, 39, were found dead with gunshot wounds in their home on Dec. 30 in the 1400 block of North 4th Street. The Tepes’ two small children were found in the home unharmed, police said. Police have since released very little information and have not publicly identified any suspects.
Spencer Tepe grew up in Mason and graduated from Mason High School in 2007.
The nearly 30-second video provided by police on Jan. 5 shows a person walking in an alley near the couples’ home but does not identify the specific alley. Detectives believe the shooting happened between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. in the upstairs portion of the house.
Police described the person seen in the video as a “person of interest.” The person is seen walking in the alley during the timeframe of the killings, police said. The video shows a person wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt or coat with the hood pulled up and lighter pants.
“We have received and are continuing to receive numerous tips from the community, which our detectives are following up on,” police said in an email that included the video.

A Mason City School District spokesperson sent a statement to The Enquirer.
“This is a profoundly heartbreaking tragedy. Our hearts are with the Tepe family as they face this unimaginable loss. We extend our deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved this couple and pray for their children,” the statement reads.
