'Upscale Flea Market and Craft Show' coming to fairgrounds this spring

Vendors are wanted for an “Upscale Flea Market and Craft Show” at the Richland County Fairgrounds.

The show, an extension of the venue’s former craft show, is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 25, according to Kathi Cutlip-Mills, a longtime fair volunteer who organizes the sale. Admission is free for guests.

Most vendors will be in Fairhaven Hall, but some may display their wares outside and maybe a second building.

“We’re hoping that we have enough flea market registrations that we can expand into the Arts and Crafts Hall,” Cutlip-Mills said.

The craft portion of the show typically includes handcrafted jewelry, crocheted items, wreaths, wooden products, ceramics, lawn decorations and more.

This year, organizers decided to expand the event to allow more items typically found at a flea market, but they wanted to ensure offerings remain upscale, with nothing moldy or broken.

“We’re hoping some individuals have antiques and things that are upscale that they want to get rid of,” Cutlip-Mills said.

Organizers hope to attract people who want to sell dishes, collectibles and other items considered “a better quality of things.”

Vendor spaces are available in sizes of 10-by-10. Indoors, the first square will cost $45.

“If they get two or more spaces, then they’re $40 each,” Cutlip-Mills said. “If they want to be outside, a 10-by-10 is $40. And if they get two or more spots outside, then they’re $35 each.”
