Tony Award nominations announced. Ohio's Carrie Coon makes list

The 2025-2026 Broadway season took us from “Ragtime” to “Rocky Horror” and “Liberation” to “The Lost Boys.” We met “Two Strangers” and the titans of “Titanique.” We waited for Godot and relished “Every Brilliant Thing.”

On May 5, some of Broadway’s best got to add “Tony Award nominee” to their resumes, while others including Keanu Reeves and Lea Michele were snubbed. Darren Criss and Uzo Aduba announced some of the nominations live on YouTube. Ohio was also represented in the nominee list with Akron-area native Carrie Coon earning a spot.

Leading the way were “The Lost Boys” and “Schmigadoon!” with 12 nominations each, while “Ragtime” was close on their heels with 11.

The 2026 American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards will be held at Radio City Music Hall June 7. Pink is set to host.
