Three candidates are vying for the at-large seat on Grove City Council in the November election, as the current at-large representative, Anthony Wilson, appointed earlier this year, is running for the Ward 3 seat.
Ohio’s general election is Nov. 4, with polls open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voters also may cast their ballots early at the Franklin County Board of Elections, 1700 Morse Road.

Julieann Burroughs

I currently serve as president of the Friends of the Hocking Hills State Park and on the Grove City Parks and Recreation Foundation Board, where I help guide sustainable community and recreation initiatives. My leadership style is collaborative, results-driven and grounded in fiscal responsibility and real-world experience.”

Background: Business management and business marketing degrees. Chairman of Grove City building and zoning. President of Ohio’s largest HOA (saved millions of dollars and never raised dues). Chairman of Community Infrastructure Financing Authority. A successful entrepreneur with a proven track record of turning around struggling businesses.
Why are you the best candidate? “I’m a common sense representative who shows up and works for all residents.”
Joel Newby
Age: 37

Background: “I am the managing attorney of the Newby Law Office, where I focus on construction law, small business matters, and contract law. I graduated from Ohio University and Capital University Law School.”
Why are you the best candidate? “My career has positioned me to understand the needs of Grove City and how to execute the goals of citizens. I will be a vocal advocate for the people of Grove City. I understand how laws and economic growth come together to cause roadblocks to city goals, so I know how to overcome those roadblocks.”
