A 15-year-old male is charged with delinquency to commit reckless homicide, accused of fatally shooting a woman on April 25 on Columbus’ South Side.

Dumas was transported to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, Downtown, in critical condition. Homicide Unit detectives had immediately been assigned the case due to her life-threatening injuries. She later died at the hospital on April 28, police said.

The 15-year-old is in custody at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. The Dispatch is not identifying the teen at this time. It was not immediately clear whether the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office would seek to have the case transferred to county Common Pleas Court to try the youth as an adult.

Homicide detectives are investigating, with a motive for the crime unknown at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Columbus Police Homicide Unit at (614) 645-4730 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at (614) 461-TIPS (8477).
