Sugarcreek motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle crash on State Route 39

A motorcyclist died following a three-vehicle crash on State Route 39 at County Road 77, at approximately 10:37 a.m. Aug. 2, Tuscarawas County.

Marcus Miller, 26, of Sguarcreek, was traveling west on SR 39 on a 2011 Kawasaki when he struck the side of a 2016 Mazda driven by Martha Egan, who was making a left turn onto County Road 77. The motorcycle then slid left of center and struck the left front of a 2023 Nissan, according to a release from the New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Miller was pronounced deceased on the scene. He was wearing a helmet and protective clothing, the released stated. Nobody else was injured, including the Nissan diver Tiffany Ervin, 49, of Coshocton.

The patrol was assisted by Sugarcreek Police and Fire departments, Ohio Department of Transportation, Rosenberry Towing, and the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
