Sixteen Columbus restaurants to offer two weeks of fixed-price special menus in November

Sixteen Columbus restaurants, including The Refectory, Z Cucina, Alqueria and Barcelona, will offer diners two weeks of prix fixe special menus in November.

Not to be confused with 614 magazine’s twice yearly Restaurant Week, the new, plural Columbus Restaurant Weeks will run from Wednesday, Nov. 3 to Monday, Nov. 15. It’s organized by Columbus Independents, an organization of locally owned, independent central Ohio restaurants.

“This is an outstanding opportunity for everyone to discover new restaurants or return to old favorites,” Myra Orenstein, acting executive director of Columbus Independents, said in an announcement of the event. “Locally owned, independent restaurants need our support now more than ever. Kicking off the holiday season with strong sales will help them as they transition into January and colder weather.”

Participating restaurants include: Alqueria, Barcelona, Cambridge Tea House, Chile Verde, Elevator Brewery & Draught Haus, Figlio, Gogi Korean BBQ, La Chatelaine, Lemongrass Fusion Bistro, Local Roots, Pat and Gracie’s, The Refectory, Two Rivers Restaurant and Bar, Trattoria Roma, Wolf’s Ridge Brewing and Z Cucina di Spirito locations in Dublin and Columbus.

Each prix fixe menu includes three courses — for most, a starter, entree and dessert — and ranges from $25 to $59.99. La Chatelaine will offer a four-course lunch of salad, soup, sandwich and dessert for $14.95.

“It’s our privilege to welcome our guests during these weeks of highlighting the support of local independent restaurants,” said Kamal Boulos, owner of The Refectory and president of Columbus Independents. “These places along with many, many others enrich the culture and culinary diversity of central Ohio.”

Not all menus will run the entire two-week course of Restaurant Weeks. Ornstein said menus will be posted Oct. 24 at columbusrestaurantweeks.com.
