Renovations continue at Mansfield Speedway

Mansfield Speedway is set to reopen with its first race on May 2.

Once a national stage for speed, the iconic 67-year-old racetrack had lain dormant for quite a few years until this past summer.

Following an April 12 Test & Tune event, gates officially open to the public May 2 at 5 p.m. for Mansfield Speedway’s Comeback Classic, according to Destination Mansfield.

Owner and former NASCAR driver Matt Tifft, with his wife and co-owner, Jordan Tifft, bought the property in 2025 to revitalize the track, which opened in 1959.

The Tifft team is renovating the 180-acre racing facility, installing a 70-by-40-foot Jumbotron, new grandstands and a new dirt track.

Single tickets average $20, kids 10 and under are admitted free and season passes are $350, with tickets, schedules and complete details available at TheSpeedway.com

With space for 20,000 or more fans and weekend camping, plans are in the works for late-model sprint cars, car shows, motocross, side-by-side off-road ATV and RTV track events, monster and burnout events, concerts and a Freedom 250 Festival complete with Fourth of July fireworks. Open-ride days are also in the works, according to the update.

The 2026 schedule includes Night of Destruction May 3; Monster Truck Mayhem, May 8 and 9; Comeback Classic May 15; 57 Special, May 29 and 30; Gr1dlock: Truck Fest, June 5 and 6; Summer Sprint Car Opener, June 27 and 27; Mini Mayhem Asphalt go-karts & Legend Cars, July 18-19; Gr1dlock: Slidefest, July 25 and 26; Open Wheel Championship, July 31 and Aug. 1; Trackside Throwdown Country Music Concerts, Aug. 8; Super Dirtcar Big Blocks, Aug. 11; Gr1dlock Import Invasion, Aug. 15 and 16; Glass Sprints 360S Aug. 28; and Rust Bowl Nationals King of Compacts, Sept. 4 & 5; Oktoberfest Sprint Car, Sept. 18 and 19; Buckeye Brawl, Oct. 9.
