CANTON ‒ It will be a good idea to take an umbrella or a poncho to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game, Grand Parade and enshrinement.
The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of showers or thunderstorms for all three events. The forecast is more certain for today’s game and less certain for events on Aug. 8: the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival and Grand Parade.
Precipitation is possible when the Arizona Cardinals host the Carolina Panthers in the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game at 8 p.m. tonight inside Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
“What we’re really what we’re looking at is a couple of showers and thunderstorms in the area,” said Salix Iverson, a meteorologist with the weather service office in Cleveland. “It’s hard to say if they’ll actually impact the event just given the … coverage of them being so limited.”
Shower and thunderstorms will develop west of Interstate 71, then move into the Canton area today.
“But the potential for them to reach the Canton area definitely increases through the overnight period, but hard to say exactly from 8 p.m. tonight till midnight if there will be a thunderstorm or a shower directly over … Canton, just given the actual coverage of the showers and storms themselves,” Iverson said. “I can’t say you’ll be fully dry, but … it’s hard to say if there will actually be precipitation at the event itself.”
For the parade and enshrinement on Aug. 8, there’s more uncerrtainty.
“Right now, it looks like there’s the potential for some lingering showers and thunderstorms, at least around daybreak,” Iverson said on the morning of Aug. 6. “But I can’t rule out an additional round of showers and thunderstorms more so in the afternoon-evening hours moving into the area with peak heating.”
The chance of precipitation is 40% to 45% in the morning and afternoon of Aug. 8.
Temperatures are expected to be seasonable, with today’s high in the mid-80s. High temperatures are forecasted to be in the lower 80s on Aug. 7 and in the mid-80s on Aug. 8.
