The Ohio Department of Transportation is seeking public input for a planned $6.05 million bridge maintenance and repair effort along two major highways in western Stark County.
The project is slated to start in spring 2027 and conclude that fall on bridges from the U.S. Route 30 and state Route 21 interchange north through Massillon and Perry Township. Some highway bridges run over the Tuscarawas River.
ODOT expects some ramp closures and traffic rerouting during parts of the safety and improvement project. However, substantial traffic disruptions are not expected.
A significant upgrade is planned for the state Route 241 and Route 21 interchange in southwest Massillon, according to ODOT.
Structural and deck upgrades needed on the Tremont Avenue SE bridge and nearby Lincoln Way W bridge in Massillon may require closure of sidewalks and have lane restrictions for multiple days.
