The Streetsboro site is the second building the non-profit has purchased recently in the region. Goodwill Industries of Akron serves Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland counties, and owns its headquarters at 570 Waterloo Road in Akron.

Goodwill plans a grand opening at 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15, with a celebration from 9 a.m. to noon. Activities at the celebration will include:

The new store features a 10,000-square-foot sales floor, a free self-serve job search station and a drive-up donation center. The store also be a training site for Goodwill Vocational Program participants, providing hands-on experience in retail operations.

Goodwill’s previous Streetsboro location in Streetsboro Plaza, which opened in 2015, will close. The non-profit also had operated a store at a plaza on Market Square Drive for 10 years.

“At Goodwill, we believe in the power of work to transform lives, and our new Streetsboro location ensures we can continue offering resources and services to those in our community,” said Nan McClenaghan, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Akron. “It’s thanks to the generosity of our donors, shoppers and partners that this work is possible. We look forward to celebrating together and welcoming the community into this mission-driven space.”
