Former Cincinnati Bengals defensive back Mike Hilton is scheduled to work out August 27 for the Indianapolis Colts, and there’s mutual interest in completing a deal, according to a report via Twitter/X from Jordan Schultz.
Hilton was released by the Miami Dolphins ahead of the NFL’s 53-man roster deadline.
Hilton signed with the Dolphins in late July after playing the previous four seasons for the Bengals.
Lou Anarumo, hired as the Colts’ defensive coordinator in January, was Hilton’s defensive coordinator for all four of his seasons in Cincinnati.
Hilton, who is entering his ninth NFL season, posted video in July of Cincinnati on his Instagram story, with the caption, “It’s been real!”
Hilton played in 64 games with 36 starts for Cincinnati. Hilton’s six interceptions as a Bengal include one returned for a touchdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021.
Hilton played his first four NFL seasons for Pittsburgh.
In 2024, Hilton was held as Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix scrambled, but no penalty was called during the first quarter of Cincinnati’s NFL Week 17 win.
