According to complaints Brimfield police filed in court, Piskac allegedly was recorded while entering a single-family home in the 4500 block of Sunnybrook Road when no one was present and then exiting while carrying several items. Reports say smoke could be seen as Piskac exited the home. The report further said that moments later, the house was “engulfed in flames.”

The theft charge stems from an allegation that Piskac took a rifle, a large battery and the top of a cane, totaling an estimated $500 in value, from the home. The menacing charge stems from an allegation that Piskac sent another male a threatening message.

Additional information about the fire was not immediately available.

Piskac is also separetely charged with misdemeanor domestic violence, resisting arrest and obstructing official business stemming from an Aug. 24 alleged assault of a woman in Ravenna Township.

Piskac was booked into Portage County Jail early Aug. 25, according to a jail booking report. He was scheduled for an afternoon arraignment Aug. 25 in the Brimfield case.
