Six kinds of ready-made meal products sold at some Kroger, Publix, Food Lion and other retailers were recalled because they may contain aluminum fragments, the FDA announced. Here are the details on what’s recalled and where it was sold.
What items sold at Kroger, Publix, other grocery stores were recalled?
The recall affects Baked Spaghetti, Chicken Cobbler and Bread Pudding with Vanilla Sauce products (bulk as well as smaller sizes of each item) made by Virginia-based Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods. The company said it found a metal fragment in a baking pan during a routine review and later discovered a similar piece of metal in a Chicken Cobbler product.
Products were produced by Ukrop’s Kitchen from July 1 through July 30, 2026.
Were any recalled products sold in Ohio, Kentucky?
Ohio avoided seeing the affected meals on shelves.
However, some stores in Kentucky, where the territories of Kroger and Publix overlap, may have been part of the distribution network. Distribution occurred primarily in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Kentucky, per the FDA.

Consumers should check packages for Best By dates ranging from July 6 through Aug. 5, 2026.
