If you had plans to enjoy Kings Island or its WinterFest this Sunday, the weather has canceled those plans for you.
Due to extreme temperatures, the Mason amusement park will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 14, according to a statement on the Six Flags website. The park will stay open throughout Friday, Dec. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 13.
However, with the area under a winter storm warning starting midday Saturday, that could change.
Guests who purchased tickets for Sunday can still use them any day WinterFest is open through Dec. 31, 2025.
What about the other outdoor winter events?
WinterFest isn’t the only outdoor event going on this weekend.
The Cincinnati Zoo has not yet made a final decision regarding its hours this weekend, according to a spokesperson, who said the zoo will make the call on Saturday, Dec. 13. If it does close, the zoo will announce that decision on its website.
Neither Cincinnati Santacon nor The Yuletide Village have announced changes in their weekend hours.
