Kings Island the only Midwest Six Flags park to get this Halloween maze

Beware! Kings Island is adding a horror icon from a decades-long franchise to its Halloween Haunt.

Six Flags, which owns Kings Island and its sister park in Ohio, Cedar Point, announced that Jason Voorhees from the “Friday the 13th” franchise will be bringing scares to select parks this fall, and Kings Island is one of them.

“He’s back, and he’s coming for you,” Six Flags posted to Instagram on July 31, following the statement with a knife emoji.

The new attraction is in partnership with Horror, Inc. — the owners of the “Friday the 13th” franchise, according to Variety — which launched the Jason Universe, a series of new games, merchandise and shows.

Here’s a look at what’s planned at Kings Island for Halloween 2026.

Haunted maze inspired by ‘Friday the 13th’ franchise coming to Kings Island, other Six Flags parks, for Halloween

The Jason Blood Reign haunted mazes are coming to three Six Flags parks for Halloween: Kings Island, Carowinds in North Carolina and Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey, according to Six Flags’ announcement.

The video shared by Six Flags teased the attraction but didn’t show much. It included a VHS cassette labled “Why won’t you DIE” followed by silhouettes of Jason holding a machete and another person running through a dark forest.

“Will you survive the night?” Six Flags asks in its caption.

When does Halloween Haunt at Kings Island begin?

Halloween Haunt begins Sept. 25 and runs through Oct. 31 at Kings Island.

The annual fright fest brings several scare zones, where aliens and supernatural creatures have lurked in past years, as well as haunted mazes, which require the purchase of an additional pass. It also brings live entertainment and night rides on the park’s attractions and roller coasters, such as The Beast, Orion, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers and Banshee.

Kings Island brings back spooky Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare ride for 2026 season

Unrelated to Halloween Haunt, Kings Island brought back a spooky attraction to replace Boo Blasters this season. Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, a revival of the popular haunted attraction that operated at Kings Island from 1992 to 2002, officially premiered on the opening day of the park’s 2026 season, April 18.

The new attraction is an update of the original 1992 ride, combining the haunted theater with the interactive gameplay of Boo Blasters.
