Kes Murphy is out as the head basketball coach at Notre Dame Academy after seven seasons at the helm of the Pandas.
NDA hired Murphy before the 2018-2019 season, and he directed the Pandas to a 151-58 record, six district titles and three regional championship game appearances over the past seven seasons.
Before coaching at Notre Dame, Murphy coached at Holy Cross. He led Holy Cross to a state championship in 2015. He also had two previous tenures on the NDA coaching staff and spent time at Covington Catholic.
This past season, the Pandas went 22-8, winning the 35th district championship before a 60-57 loss to Cooper in the 9th Region championship.
The Pandas should return top scorer Emma Holtzapfel (11.9 points per game) in 2025-2026, but they’ll be without Maya Lawrie and Sophia Gibson, who finished second and third in scoring for the team last season.
