Jaden Allen Proctor, 19, was indicted on two first-degree felony rape charges; and charges of second-degree felony robbery; third-degree felony intimidation of a victim; fourth-degree felony strangulation; and first-degree misdemeanor assault.

All of the charges are connected to the same 20-year-old woman for an incident that allegedly happened between Feb. 26 and March 1. The indictment was filed March 12 in Portage County Common Pleas Court.

Court records indicate the woman allegedly was assaulted at Proctor’s Whitehall Boulevard home. They also indicate she allegedly was abducted from another Kent residence.

In addition to the rape and strangulation allegations, documents also allege Proctor threw the woman onto a bed, causing her head to slam into the headboard, and that he bit her.

Proctor was arraigned March 13. Current bond information was not immediately available March 13, but Proctor was released March 10 from Portage County Jail on a 10% of $35,000 bond.

At that time, Proctor had been charged only with third-degree felony charges of strangulation and abduction, and misdemeanor assault.

A jury trial is currently scheduled to begin May 19 in Common Pleas Court.
