Inkcarceration Tattoo & Music Festival returns July 16-18, 2027

Next year’s Inkcarceration Tattoo & Music Festival will be held July 16-18.

Fresh off a sold-out event that drew 30,000 people for each of the three days, officials announced the 2027 dates on Aug. 18.

Held on the historic grounds of the Ohio State Reformatory, Inkcarceration has been nominated for Pollstar’s Global Festival of the Year.

The subscriber presale begins 12 p.m. Aug. 21 with sign-ups available at the festival website, https://inkcarceration.com/. Three-day general admission and VIP passes, plus options for camping and parking, go on sale to the public 12 p.m. Aug. 24.

Fans can secure their spots for $1 down, with flexible layaway options available. Service fees on all pass purchases include a charity fee for Danny Wimmer Presents, which gives back to local and national charities throughout the year.

In last month’s festival, Inkcarceration hosted more than 65 bands on three stages. Included in the lineup were headliners Disturbed, Bad Omens and Limp Bizkit, along with Papa Roach, Cypress Hill, Gojira, A Day to Remember, Motionless in White and many more.

In addition to the music, Inkcarceration included more than 100 tattoo artists and competitions, as well as the Blood Prison haunted attraction and tours of OSR, made famous in the movie “The Shawshank Redemption.”

This year’s event attracted widespread media attention.

“Organizers have transformed the prison grounds into a venue for one of the most extreme music and art gatherings in all of North America,” according to VICE.

“Metal Injection” added, “In a world that often feels increasingly divided, Inkcarceration offered a welcome reminder that beneath the distortion, blast beats and breakdowns lies one of music’s most welcoming communities.”
