Benefit for Donald Warnock

A benefit will be held for Antrim Fire Chief Donald Warnock on June 20, at the Buckeye Trail Elementary School in Lore City. Warnock was involved in an accident on May 26 and was ejected from a truck. He sustained serious injuries and was admitted to Wheeling Hospital.

ODOT projects

Interstate 77 is restricted to one lane in each direction near Byesville. The right northbound and southbound lanes are closed to traffic for bridge work. Ohio 209 will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic to facillitate the bridge work as well. The lanes are anticipated to reopen July 21.

Beginning June 15, motorists should expect flagged, single-lane closures during daytime hours for chip seal application. Work will take place along Ohio 541 and 658 in Guernsey County, as well as sections of Ohio 93 and 541 in Coshocton County.

Habitat receives state funding

Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio (Athens, Columbiana, Fairfield, Gallia, Guernsey, Hocking, Holmes, Jackson, Lawrence, Mahoning, Meigs, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Trumbull, Vinton, and Washington counties) will receive a grant for $400,000 grant for the purchase, and $600,000 for the rehabilitation or construction of nine homes. The funding is from the latest round of the Welcome Home Ohio Program through the Ohio Department of Development.

Love Quartet to perform in New Concord

Love Quartet will open the Pickin’ in the Pavilion summer music series at 7 p.m. June 14, at the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church in New Concord. Food will be provided by the Meigs Junior Pioneers and available at 6 p.m. Attendees should bring lawn chairs. For more information, call 740-674-4888 or 740-607-7849.

Electronic device collection day

A computer and television collection will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 16 at the Muskingum County Recycling Center, 2215 Old Adamsville Road, Zanesville. It’s open to residents, businesses and institutions of Guernsey, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble and Washington counties with a current driver’s license or vehicle registration needed for proof of residence. Meetings

● Guernsey County Children Services Board has changed its meeting to 1 p.m. June 8, at its offices.

● Guernsey County Port Authority will meet at 9 a.m. June 10, at the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation.

● East Guernsey Local School Board will meet at 6 p.m. June 24, at Buckeye Trail High School.
