The county commission office supplied the salary list to the Eagle-Gazette. The list is not inclusive of all county employees. But here is a list of some:

“I think in general we’ve been very fortunate over the last several years to grow a really good management team,” county commissioner Steve Davis said. “We have a lot of positive results in the operation because of that.”

Davis mentioned Cordle as an example. He said she is running the day-to-day operations for a $300 million organization.

“She’s been with us for 32 years, and you’ve got to pay for that,” Davis said. “And honestly, if I could I’d pay her more. The value of her to our community is difficult to overstate.”

In comparison, Davis said the Franklin County administrator makes $307,679 in 2024.

He said the most important thing is that county department heads “are doing a great job.”

“We’re not that far removed when nothing got done at the county level,” Davis said. “And now look what we’re getting accomplished with the lowest sales tax rate in central Ohio. It’s because of this management team.”

Davis said with an average salary of $65,000, the county is 8% lower for government employees than the national average. He also said the county must compete with for the workforce with Franklin County.
