Summit County residents are days away from Independence Day, a three-day weekend, barbecues, fireworks and fun with friends and the whole family.
While post offices and banks are closed for the holiday, those customers needing last-minute grocery items will be in luck, with most retail chains being open for at least a few hours on July 4.

Here’s what you need to know about grocery stores and which ones are open on the Fourth of July.

The July 4 holiday falls on a Friday this year.
Is Acme open on July 4th?
Yes. Acme will be open from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday. The pharmacy will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Is Aldi open on July 4th?
Aldi stores will be open with limited hours on July 4. They will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
Will BJ’s Wholesale Club be open on July 4th?
Yes, the store will be open for regular hours that day, from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Is Costco open on July 4th?
No, Costco will be closed on Friday.
Will Dave’s be open on July 4th?
Yes, Dave’s will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Independence Day.
Is Giant Eagle open on July 4th?
Yes, the store will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday.
Is Marc’s open on July 4th?
Yes, Marc’s will be open from 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday.

Yes, Target will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Friday.

Yes, Trader Joe’s locations will only be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the Fourth of July.
Is Walmart open on July 4th?
Walmart will be open during regular hours, from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. on Independence Day.
Is Whole Foods open on July 4th?
Yes, Whole Foods will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday.
