One person died in a single-vehicle crash May 21 on State Route 79 near John Alford Parkway, according to Hebron police.
Officers responded around 6:50 a.m. May 21 to a report of a crash on State Route 79, according to a news release. Joseph Rodgers, 57, of Hebron, was driving south when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes and hit a utility pole.
First responders took Rodgers to Licking Memorial Hospital, where staff said he had died. There were no other people or vehicles involved in the crash, police said in the release.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. The Licking County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene to help document the crash and assist with the investigation, the release states. Police closed the highway for about an hour.
