ALLIANCE ‒ Fizzy. Co. started small, serving creative drinks from food trucks. Now, it has a home of its own.
Owner Grace Erb opened the Fizzy Co. store Aug. 7 at 542 W. State St. in Alliance with a celebration.
Her business serves a colorful lineup of dirty sodas, fruit bowls and lattes. The bowls are custom made.
Erb said she plans to keep the food trucks, calling them “very important to us,” but added that having a storefront has always been the dream.
The store is in Sunbeam Plaza, across from the University of Mount Union, and neighbors Hibachi Express and Sunbeam Tanning. It is in the former Mount Union Nutrition store space and has a colorful, fruity vibe.
“We’ve got some great drink businesses in the area but we wanted to bring something a little bit different, kind of encompass what we have in our mobile units into a store, and we found the perfect spot do it,” Erb said.
Erb, her son Chase Royer and staff cut the ceremonial red ribbon before a crowd of customers, friends, family and Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce representatives.
Rick Baxter, president of Alliance Area Chamber of Commerce, said Fizzy Co. is one of six new businesses to open in August. The others include Dudley’s Downtown, which opened Aug. 4, and the Brass Duck Market, set to open Aug. 15.
Ashley Reichenbach and her husband, Nate, of Sebring, were among the first customers through the door at 6 p.m., buying fruit bowls. They’ve known Erb for awhile.
“I love Grace,” Ashley Reichenbach said. “Anything that Grace does I support.”
Bob and Kim Givens of Louisville are longtime Fizzy Co. fans. One of their granddaughters works for Erb, and they frequently buy from the food trucks. So, naturally, they were on hand for the celebration and enjoyed speciality lemonades.
Bob Givens said the blackberry lemonade is “the best.” Kim Givens had a strawberry lemonade.
“We follow (Fizzy Co.) everywhere they go,” Bob Givens said.
