ZANESVILLE – Another one in the books. The 2026 Muskingum County Fair wrapped up Aug. 22.
Things got dicey halfway through the week. Several inches of precipitation Aug. 20 led to some cancellations, like the Chore Olympics and Dialed Action Stunt Show, but the fair rebounded later that afternoon and for the following days.
Leading up to the fair, the fair board made some changes to the 2026 schedule. For example, there wasn’t a typical bigger-name concert like in years past, and the hog show became a topic of discussion before a compromise.
Nonetheless, the 2026 fair kicked off Sunday, Aug. 16 and featured numerous events, including Pool Party Pooches, cooking demos, firefighters’ shows, the annual Showman of Showmen competition, and numerous local bands.
