Two fundraising events are planned to support the Lake Community Hope Scholarship Fund in memory of Melissa Dunham and her children Renee, Amber and Evan.
The scholarship has been given since 2025 to one graduating senior from Lake High School pursuing collegiate studies or a vocational program.
The first event will take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. June 10 at Chipotle, 1111 W. Maple St., Hartville, with 25% of event sales to be donated to the cause. For dine-in or takeout orders, show the fundraiser flyer at checkout. For online orders for pickup, use code 3DJB36E at chipotle.com or in the Chipotle app. Only sales that use the code are included in the fundraising.
The second event is the 3rd Annual 5K Run/Walk and fun run at 8 a.m. Aug. 23 around the Lake High School-Middle School, Lake Community YMCA, Lake Community Park properties and nearby neighborhood. Early bird pricing is available through June 30. Pricing ranges from $20 to $45 and is based on the length of race selected. Those wishing to run, volunteer or sponsor can use the links below:

The Dunhams were Lake Township residents who died in August 2023. They volunteered in the Akron and Canton areas, with a focus on Lake Township. The family was active in local scout troops and led volunteer projects benefiting the community.
The surviving family, through the Stark Community Foundation, set up the scholarship fund. Melissa and the children attended Lake Local Schools.
