The Cleveland Browns take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
The two teams will play in blustery Cleveland weather. Vegas doesn’t think much of this game. The Browns are five-and-a-half-point underdogs, and the total is set at 35.5 points. The markets aren’t expecting many points or much of a game. However, the Browns could benefit significantly from home-field advantage. The Browns should possess home-field advantage as fans return to the stadium to watch Shedeur Sanders’s first start in Cleveland. The 49ers are playing in the early slot. While it doesn’t matter a lot, playing earlier in the day does matter. The weather will be poor. It’ll make passing and kicking the ball more challenging. 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has always struggled in bad weather. The markets are right to view this as a low-scoring affair. However, the Browns could be an upset waiting to happen. I found five player props that I’m confident will hit. BetMGM provides all lines and odds.
Shedeur Sanders over 148.5 passing yards -115
Sanders should have plenty of opportunities to go over 159.5 yards. Sanders had a pretty brutal statistical outing in his debut. He struggled to throw the ball in structure. However, he showed that he’s willing to rip the deep ball. The Browns are a 4.5-point underdog, so they should pass more often. The weather is going to be brutal, and it will negatively affect the passing attack for both teams. However, Sanders’ aggressiveness as a passer and this low line should be in danger.
Harold Fannin Jr. over 32.5 receiving yards -115
Harold Fannin Jr. is one of the Browns’ best receivers. The tight end should carve up the 49ers. The 49ers have a poor pass defense, especially at linebacker, after losing Fred Warner to a season-ending injury. Fannin has gone over this line in five of his last six games. Fannin has the most experience with Sanders out of the pass catchers. He should be a reliable target for the young quarterback. He could crush this line.
Jerry Jeudy over 24.5 receiving yards -125
Jerry Jeudy has a disgustingly low line. While the receiver hasn’t been productive this year, he’s still the Browns’ primary receiver. The team runs many plays to get him the ball. He just hasn’t had a quarterback who could get it to him. That’s changed with Sanders. Sanders struggles to operate in the rhythm of the offense, but he knows he needs to get his playmakers the ball. The 49ers have a below-average coverage unit. Jeudy should get plenty of opportunities to break this line.
Ricky Pearsall under 27.5 receiving yards -118
Ricky Pearsall is the 49ers’ former first-round receiver. The talented route runner from Florida hasn’t built much chemistry with quarterback Brock Purdy, as injuries have kept them from playing together. Sunday’s bad weather day will be their 14th game together. The Browns’ defensive backs should have no problem shadowing Pearsall all game. It’s unlikely that Purdy will force the ball his way.
Brock Purdy under 11.5 rushing yards -120
The Browns’ pass rush is a ferocious group. They do a good job of crushing pockets and cutting off rush lanes. The Browns have freak athletes who love to swarm quarterbacks. Brock Purdy is a relatively mobile quarterback. However, he’s coming back from a toe injury. Purdy is a competent quarterback who knows he can’t escape the pass rush. One of the extra benefits of betting Purdy’s rushing under is the fact that the 49ers are the favorites to win the game. If they are winning, they’ll kneel the ball to finish the game. Each kneel subtracts a yard from his total. I don’t see many paths for Purdy to rush for more than 10.5 yards on Sunday.
