Cincinnati Enquirer readers showed up to choose the next Student of the Week for the period ending March 27.
Each week, these ballots are posted at 7 a.m. on Mondays. Like the popular athlete of the week ballots, voters may cast a ballot once an hour until the 2 p.m. deadline on Fridays.
School representatives such as teachers, counselors, club advisers, communication staff and principals can nominate these high school students by 5 p.m. on Thursdays.
Here is this week’s winner.
Jett Phillips, Hamilton High School
Jett Phillips, a student at Hamilton High School, has achieved outstanding accomplishments in academics, leadership and athletics. He recently received an incredible opportunity from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he was offered a scholarship for both school and football.
Jett has earned a 4.63 GPA and is on track to complete more than 50 college credits before graduation. He scored a five on the AP Physics exam and is one of only eight seniors enrolled in the school’s CCP Calculus II and III block.
Beyond the classroom, Jett is a four-year varsity football player and team captain, a member of National Honor Society, a church musician and a Neighborhood Ambassador with 17Strong, where he helps write grants for community improvement projects.
With plans to study chemical engineering, Jett represents the very best of Hamilton High School through his work ethic, character and commitment to excellence.
