A popular Greater Akron food truck is spreading its culinary wings.
Dr. Hibachi is adding a third truck to his fleet.
Chef Kitsada Hongsakrai has opened a Dr. Wings food truck that specializes in chicken wings and tenders with Asian-influenced flavors.
The new truck that made its public debut April 9 will join Hongsakrai’s original hibachi food truck and his second Dr. Boba drink truck at Greater Akron festivals and pop-up locations.
“I want to do something fun,” he said. “I wanted to do something different.”
Hongsakrai said he spent the winter off season working on the wing flavor recipes that are all made in house.
He admits that some flavors tend to be a bit “spicy” so there is a guide on the side of the new truck that lists just how much kick they have with a mild barbecue dry rub option for those who are not too adventurous.
Hongsakrai uses social media posts on Facebook and Instagram to update the schedule for his trucks.
What sauces does Dr. Wings offer?
The Dr. Wings food truck has eight flavors to choose from.
They include:

What’s next for Dr. Hibachi?
Hongsakrai, who is also known as Dr. Ice, said it has been fun to watch the business grow since its humble beginnings a few years back in the parking lot of Target in Cuyahoga Falls.
He plans to roll out a new hibachi food truck this summer and use the original one that started it all as a back up.
And he is continuing to work with building officials in Medina to open his first brick-and-mortar location in the former Ohio Valley Pizza building just south of Medina’s historic square as a place for carryout food found on his trucks.
“I hope we are busy this summer,” he said.
