Do you approve or disapprove of companies building solar farms in Fairfield County? Vote here

LANCASTER − Geronimo Power is behind the Carnation solar field project in Amanda and EDF Renewables wants to build the Eastern Cottontail solar project in Walnut Township.

Both are controversial, with supporters and opponents voicing their opinions at various public meetings and hearings.

The Fairfield County commissioners previously banned any new county-wide solar projects. But the Carnation project and the Eastern Cottontail project in Walnut Township were grandfathered into the approval process.
