DeWines seated front row as Trump welcomes King Charles at White House

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and first lady Fran DeWine were seated in the front row on the South Lawn of the White House on April 28 as Donald Trump welcomed King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their U.S. visit.

Around 11:10 a.m., a 21-gun salute marked the ceremony as Trump and King Charles walked together across the South Lawn, passing rows of invited guests and troops standing at attention.

Gun smoke lingered in the air following the salute as attendees – including those seated near the front – were directed to sit. Moments later, the Marine Band began playing “The Stars and Stripes Forever.”

As the two leaders descended the podium steps, circled the lawn and made their way back, the DeWines were visible in the front row as they passed. Fran DeWine, wearing a pink outfit, sat at one end, with the governor seated to the right of her.

The king and queen’s White House appearance is part of a broader U.S. trip drawing national and international attention. The visit includes ceremonial events, public appearances and meetings with U.S. leaders. Coverage from USA TODAY shows officials, dignitaries and invited guests assembled for Tuesday’s arrival and remarks.
