Cincinnati weather: Brace for scorching temperatures. Summer's first heat watch issued

It’s the weather we’ve all been waiting for, Cincinnati.

Scorching summer temperatures and clear skies are finally here after severe storms and strong winds slammed Greater Cincinnati this week.

While the rain is gone, the heat and humidity are here to stay. According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, an extreme heat watch will be in effect from Sunday, June 22, afternoon through Tuesday evening, with heat indices over 100 degrees.

As of Friday morning, our next round of rain will occur on Wednesday, June 25. A chance of showers and thunderstorms is in the forecast, with a 30% chance of precipitation, per NWS Wilmington.

Temperatures will continue to rise next week as Cincinnati braces for its first heat wave of the season. Residents should avoid staying outside for extended periods of time and remember to stay hydrated and wear lightweight clothing.
