Like him or not, we elected Aftab Pureval as Cincinnati’s mayor. Let’s also remember that we have a council-manager form of government. Under this structure, City Manager Sheryl Long manages the day-to-day activities. I am proud of our mayor seeking out events beyond our city limits where he shares knowledge among his peers. These are learning opportunities which may be vital to all concerned.
Cincinnati has experienced several unfortunate events, whether weather-related or human-related, coinciding with Pureval’s absences. Our mayor is a human being capable of leading our fair city, and to blame him for being missing in action is fruitless criticism of our home-run hitter.
