Chick-fil-A intends to open a location in Heath, Heath Mayor Mark Johns said in an announcement.
In an Oct. 7 news release, Johns said Chick-Fil-A is working with the city to obtain permits and approval to redevelop 775 Hebron Road, where it would open a new location. The company submitted a sketch plan detailing its planned layout of the restaurant, parking and drive-thru at the site, according to Johns.
The Advocate reached out to Chick-fil-A for comment the afternoon of Oct. 7.
“After years of pursuing a Chick-fil-A coming to Heath, by both the company and the city, we appreciate the company’s decision to work toward locating a restaurant on Hebron Road in Heath,” Johns said in the release. “It is my hope that Chick-fil-A has a long and successful operation in our community, employing Heath residents of all ages, while also affording the residents of Heath and central Licking County with a more convenient option of purchasing their food.”
The company in the coming weeks and months will work with the city to ensure its redevelopment plan and use of the site is appropriate for the city, Johns said. He said Heath residents have clamored for a Chick-fil-A.
The new location would be the first in Licking County, according to Chick-fil-A’s website. The company has one in Fairfield County and several others in Franklin County.
