Central Ohio is under a dense fog advisory the morning of March 6.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington said visibility is a quarter mile or less in dense fog. The NWS issued the advisory at about 3:30 a.m. March 6, and it expires at 10 a.m.
The low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous, the NWS said. Drivers should slow down, use their low-beam headlights and leave plenty of distance ahead of them.
Schools delayed for dense fog
The dense fog prompted some school districts to delay classes.
Buckeye Central Local School District and Madison-Plains Local School District both said classes would be delayed by two hours March 6 due to dense fog in the area.
National Weather Service issues hazardous weather outlook for storms
The NWS also issued a hazardous weather outlook for central Ohio early in the morning March 6. Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move through the area on March 7, the NWS said.
Some of the storms could be strong to severe, according to the hazardous weather outlook. Some areas could see locally heavy rainfall, posing risks for flooding due to already saturated soil.
Another storm system will move through the area overnight March 10, bringing heavy rain and another chance of flooding, the NWS said.
