The Cleveland Browns have beaten the Green Bay Packers!
After three quarters of abysmal football offensively, the special teams and defense came up huge for the Browns. An interception by Grant Delpit gave the Browns a chance to tie the game. A blocked field goal that would have put the Packers up with 30 seconds left led to a position for the Browns to steal a win from the Packers.
Joe Flacco did just enough late, finding David Njoku over the middle to give the Browns the field position to nail the field goal. Kicker Andre Szmyt gets his shot at redemption as well. After missing a go-ahead kick against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 1, he drilled this one from 55 yards out as time expired.
Here are all of the highlights from this Week 3 win for the Browns:
Browns win! Somehow!
The Browns have beaten the Packers by a score of 13-10. Somehow! Against all odds, kicker Andre Szymt nailed a 55-yarder for the win. Defense and special teams came up huge for the Browns. It was not pretty, but the Browns got the job done!
Quinshon Judkins ties the game 10-10 with 3 minutes left!
The Browns have tied it up late against the Packers as rookie running back Quinshon Judkins pounds the football into the endzone for a touchdown. The game is now tied 10-10 with three minutes left in the game. Can Jim Schwartz’s defense come up huge again?
Grant Delpit comes up with huge interception to put Browns in position to tie game
On a third-and-gottahaveit, Grant Delpit comes up with a huge interception for the Browns. The offense now sits with 1st and Goal. Can the Browns tie it up late?
The Browns finally get on the board; down 10-3 vs. Packers
It took until deep in the fourth quarter, but the Browns are finally on the board. After a long drive that saw the Browns sitting 1st and Goal at the one-yard line stalled due to a penalty, kicker Andre Szymt knocked through a field goal to at least cut the lead to a one-score deficit.
Browns defense keeping them alive
After a suspect decision to punt, the defense once again bucks up and forces a punt. The Browns are running out of time offensively, though…
Packers punch it in, take what seems like an insurmountable 10-0 lead
Jordan Love throws a touchdown pass at the goalline, and the Packers take a 10-0 lead. Given the current situation of the offense, that feels like too tall of a mountain to climb for the Browns.
Dawand Jones ruled out for the rest of the game for Browns
After leaving the game in the first quarter with a knee injury, the Browns have officially ruled Dawand Jones out for the rest of the game.
Score deadlocked at 3-0 at halftime
The defense is holding strong with three first half sacks. The offense, however? Yeah…
Packers knock field goal through to take 3-0 lead
Packers kicker Brandon McManus has given Green Bay the lead. While the Browns defense held up in the redzone after a long drive, the Packers were able to put points on the board. It’s 3-0 Packers.
Browns, Packers knotted at 0 through one quarter
After one quarter of play, the Browns and Packers have struggled to move the football. The game is tied at 0.
Browns lose OT Dawand Jones to knee injury
After two straight seasons with a knee injury, Dawand Jones has left the game with another knee injury. Already down Jack Conklin in this game, the Browns are now starting KT Leveston at right tackle. Jones is questionable to return in this game.
Joe Flacco could have short leash as Browns’ starting QB
According to Brad Stainbrook, the Browns were close to making the switch to rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel ahead of this matchup against the Packers. If there is an early struggle offensively, we could see the Browns pull Joe Flacco sooner rather than later.
