The departure of veteran David Njoku left the Browns with a need to add a veteran to the tight end group. They have Harold Fannin Jr., but very little else.
Cleveland added some veteran help to the group with a one-year deal with Jack Stoll, a source confirms for the Beacon Journal. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler was the first to report.
Stoll, 28, spent the 2025 season with the New Orleans Saints, his third team since coming into the league in 2021. He originally spent four seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, then finished out the 2024 season with the Miami Dolphins.

The move is more for Stoll’s blocking than his receiving. He only has 28 catches for 239 yards and one touchdown on 41 targets for his 76-game career.
The best receiving season for Stoll was his second season with the Eagles in 2022. He had a career-high 14 targets, 11 receptions and 123 receiving yards in 17 games with a career-high 11 starts.
Stoll played in all but one game over his first three seasons in Philadelphia. However, since playing the full 17 games in 2023, the most he’s played was 15 games for the Saints in 2025.
Stoll had six catches for 46 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets for New Orleans. He played mostly inline, with 147 snaps there out of his 210 offensive snaps.
Those receiving numbers aren’t the biggest of concerns for the Browns, who needed to find a true blocking tight end. Outside of Fannin, their roster includes Blake Whiteheart and Brendan Bates, two reserves who’ve played some over the last two seasons, and practice squad members Caden Prieskhorn and Sal Cannella.
