The Cleveland Browns are now up to seven wide receivers who have come through their doors on a top-30 visit leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft.
Joining the list today is Alabama wide receiver Germie Bernard, fresh off a strong career from Michigan State to Washington to Alabama. He now joins Washington’s Denzel Boston as the second receiver today that the Browns have brought in for a pre-draft visit.
The other receivers the Browns have brought in for a pre-draft visit are Ohio State’s Carnell Tate, USC’s Makai Lemon, Arizona State’s Jordyn Tyson, Indiana’s Omar Cooper Jr., and Louisville’s Chris Bell.
You think the Browns are emphasizing overhauling that part of their roster?
What Germie Bernard could bring to the Browns
The senior wide receiver is coming off a season with 862 yards receiving and seven touchdowns on 64 catches. This marked two straight seasons where Bernard’s totals hovered right around 800 yards receiving despite playing in a deep wide receiver room at Alabama.
At the combine, the 6-foot-1 and 206-pound receiver ran a 4.48 40-yard dash, hit 32.5 inches on his vertical jump, and leapt to a broad jump of 10-foot-5. He was one of the rare wide receivers to run the agility drills as well, hitting a flying 6.71 three-cone and 4.31 short shuttle.
Bernard translates best as a slot or Z receiver at the NFL who will willingly do the dirty work over the middle of the field. This is the type of player the Browns had thought they’d get from David Bell, who had to medically retire after just three disappointing seasons in the NFL.
Needing to overhaul the room, the door is open to each and every skillset of receiver that could be added to the roster.
