Browns' latest 7-round mock draft is when they add wide receivers

The start of free agency has come and gone. We’ve moved to the part of that process where it’s a whole lot of re-signings and special-teamers.

That remains really important for the Browns, but their eyes are starting to zero on on the NFL draft. That takes place April 23-25.

That just means it’s time for your weekly Browns seven-round mock draft.

This time, to switch it up again, we’re going back to the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator. The Pro Football Network mock draft simulator was utilized last time.

Having said all of that, let’s mock a draft:

Round No. 1, overall pick No. 6: Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia

Previous mock draft: Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia

Until proven otherwise, it’s going to be the Georgia left tackle at this pont.

Round No. 1, overall pick No. 24: Omar Cooper, WR, Indiana

Previous mock draft: Denzel Boston, WR, Washington

It was between Cooper or K.C. Concepcion for best wide receiver available. Although Utah tackle Caleb Lomu was awfully tempting, the Browns need wide receiver help.

Round No. 2, overall pick No. 39: Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee

Previous mock draft: Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee

The talented Hood, who played well as a No. 1 cornerback for the Vols, is the pick here. The Browns need to bolster that position behind their top two.

Round No. 3, overall pick No. 70: Max Klare, TE, Ohio State

Previous mock draft: Connor Lew, C, Auburn

Browns still need to bolster the tight end position. Can Klare be a second consecutive third-round tight end to hit for them?

Round No. 4, overall pick No. 107: Ja’Kobe Lane, WR, USC

Previous mock draft: Mike Washington, RB, Arkansas

It’s not the most talented USC wide receiver available in the draft, but Lane’s still plenty good enough in the fourth round.

Round No. 5, overall pick No. 146: Taylen Green, QB, Arkansas

Previous mock draft: Jalen Farmer, G, Kentucky

Green had a terrible habit of turning the football over while he was in college. But his athletic gifts are the kind of things the Browns drool over.

Round No. 5, overall pick No. 149: Parker Brailsford, C, Alabama

Previous mock draft: Louis Moore, S, Indiana

Browns need to add some youth on the interior. Brailsford has played a lot of snaps over the last three seasons for a high-quality program.

Round No. 6, overall pick No. 206: Jadon Canady, CB, Oregon

Previous mock draft: Cole Payton, QB, North Dakota State

It’s getting late, and the Browns could use more help in the secondary.

Round No. 7, overall pick No. 248: Andre Fuller, CB, Toledo

Previous mock draft: Zavion Thomas, WR, LSU

See the previous pick.
