Cincinnati Bengals wideout Jermaine Burton could be in hot water with the team again.
According to ESPN’s Ben Baby, Burton was late for a practice leading up to his team’s Week 4 game against the Denver Broncos.
Burton was on the team’s list of inactives for Monday Night Football. That alone isn’t shocking, though, as he was inactive for the first three weeks of the season after a minor injury in the preseason and the sudden emergence of Mitchell Tinsley as a breakout player.

But Baby’s report adds extra context that is fresh and paints a broader picture of what might be going on with and around Burton.
Last year, Burton ran into trouble with the team that got a callout from Joe Burrow and others, among other issues. That, after the team used a third-round pick on him.
Burton bounced back with a strong summer and before this, there was no reason to think that his being inactive was anything more than a numbers and special teams game. Now, more questions will follow.
