Ashland Regional Ballet hosts free park concert on Sunday

ASHLAND — Ashland Regional Ballet, in partnership with Opus II Dance Studio, will present the 33rd annual Concert in the Park at 8 p.m. Aug. 9, at the Guy C. Myers Memorial Bandshell in Brookside Park.

The outdoor performance is free.

This year’s concert will showcase classical ballet, energetic tap performances, and vibrant jazz works.

Performing with Ashland Regional Ballet are Abbigale Crist, Sami Crist, Hayden Culler, Stella Donatini, Gabby Hamilton, Mary Hamilton, Autumn Harpster, Kaylee Hull, Rose Jackson, Karsyn Kaeser, Kinsley Kline, Olive Knowlton, Dylan McQuate, Indica McQuate, Emersyn Metheney, Keagan Parker, Asher Robbins, Grace Shambaugh, Madelyn Shenberger, Audrie Shirley, Gianna Sinchok, Audrey Smith and Adalyn Studer. ARB alumnae Teagan Kime and Lyla Metzger will also perform.

Joining the company dancers are Opus II Dance Studio students Lilliana Benshoff, Lela Burras, Abigail Carrington, Emily Forbes, Leona Haglund, Rose Hawks, Adelyn Hockman, Ruth Klingler, Emersyn Musselman, Johnny Obertanec, Adriana Perkins, Ruth Robey, Anne Shenberger, Belle Sparr, Norah Sprowl, Kailiana Studer, Addy Sumpter and Miriam West.

Ashland Regional Ballet is under the artistic direction of Sarah Cyders, while Opus II Dance Studio is led by School Director Ann Marie Benshoff-Todd. The concert features choreography by Founder and Executive Director Hellie Schussler, Artistic Director Sarah Cyders, and ARB alumnae Kimberly Cadley-Mach and Megan Harrigan. All works have been staged by ARB faculty members Ann Marie Benshoff-Todd and Sarah Cyders.

Ashland Regional Ballet is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Donations help support production expenses, the purchase of new costumes and the commissioning of new choreography.
