Area softball standouts earn All-Ohio honors, All district honors

A strong season on the diamond from numerous local squads was recognized with the Ohio High School Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association release of its 2026 Eastern Ohio All-District softball teams, recognizing some of the top players across Divisions I-VII.

Fresh off their heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Licking Valley in Saturday’s Division IV regional championship, the regional runner-up John Glenn Muskies — who finished the season with a stellar 26-6 record — led the local effort.

John Glenn sophomore standout Kendall Snider led the way by earning First Team All-Ohio recognition in Division 4 honors, following an impressive season of work.

Snider finished with an impressive résumé from the circle with an 18-4 record, along with a 0.58 ERA and 334 strikeouts in 156 inning pitched. Offensively Snider contributed with a .407 batting average, a team-high seven home runs, 19 RBIs and a .780 slugging percentage.

Also well represented in Division 4 honors was Meadowbrook High, which finished a solid season at 19-8, with talented senior Sommer Ginn receiving Second Team All-Ohio honors. The Colts’ slick-fielding shortstop finished with a .485 batting average and impressive power numbers, including 15 doubles, five triples, five home runs and team-leading 37 RBIs.

Snider and Ginn were joined on the Division 4 All-District First Team by John Glenn’s Addi Babcock, Estelle Matheney and Ava Miller. Other local standouts named to the First Team were Meadowbrook’s McKendall Boyer and Addy Sichina along with Cambridge senior Miranda Cole.

Named to the Division 4 Second Team were Cambridge senior Laney Harper and Meadowbrook freshman Addie Schultice.

Meadowbrook also had five players receiving Academic All-Ohio honors including Sichina, Ginn, Chloe Callahan, Jordyn Vargeson and Natalee Norman.

Senior Makayla Mumaw closed out her stellar career at Caldwell High, leading a historic 20-7 season that earned her Second Team All-Ohio honors in Division 7 selections. Mumaw finished 17-2 from the circle with an 1.45 ERA, collecting 178 strikeouts in 121 innings. At the plate, she finished with a .434 batting average, six doubles, seven home runs and 23 RBIs.

Mumaw was joined on the Division 7 All-District First Team by teammate Breighlee Moracco, while Lexi Franklin and Colie Arick each reeled in Second Team All-District recognition.

Several area standouts earned all-district honors, including Barnesville’s Ella Betts named First Team in Division 5, while teammate Peyton Loudin was tabbed Second Team. In Division 6 selections named to the First Team were Shenandoah’s Bylee Morrison and Ella Ashby from Buckeye Trail.

Second Team honors went to Allison Crum of the Zeps, along with Buckeye Trail’s Avery Wayble.
