The Cincinnati Reds congratulated starting pitcher Andrew Abbott on social media on his apparent engagement to WLWT News 5’s Lindsay Stone.
Abbott shared a photo on his Instagram account of himself down on one knee and holding a ring in front of Stone.
Abbott lifted the Reds to a series win against the Phillies in Philadelphia earlier in the week.
In 11 starts this season for Cincinnati, Abbott is 4-2 with a 3.97 ERA and 1.465 WHIP. He’s allowed just seven home runs with 38 strikeouts and 26 walks over 56 2/3 innings.
Stone announced earlier in the month that she’s leaving WLWT after three years as a weekend co-anchor and reporter after her contract expires after May 24.
Abbott and Stone walked the red carpet at the 2025 MLB All-Star Game in Atlanta. Stone and Abbott also attended the Reds Hall of Fame induction gala together in April.
