The medical building at 149 E. Simpson St. in Alliance will house new facilities for students in Mount Union’s doctor of Physical Therapy and master of science in Occupational Therapy.

Students will begin using the building in Fall 2026.

The 11,000-square-foot building will have two large labs with industry-leading equipment for hands-on learning.

Additionally, the space will include nine faculty offices, a dedicated study area, student lounge, men’s and women’s locker rooms, lunchroom and an outdoor patio for student downtime. The space will have a dedicated area for training and testing with external clients and a flexible ADL space that will be utilized mainly for the master’s degree program and be available for the doctorate program, as well.

“I’m grateful for the strong support our university administration and faculty continue to show for the MSOT program,” said Dr. Carey Minard, director of Mount Union’s MSOT program. “Their commitment made the new lab spaces and updated classrooms possible, and it reflects their deep belief in our students’ success. With the new realistic ADL environment, the space is practical, immersive, and exactly the kind of setting that helps future OTs build their skills with confidence.”
